Safety measures Crime and Protecting Yourself
The human society has reached a state of position where the affluent are super wealthy and the poor lack even the basic requirements of living. Such situations have lead to the development of a situation where a person can no longer be sure of safety of his / her movement.

The major issue may seem poverty which leads to crime but at the same time, there are other causes of crime too, such as drug addicts who resort to mugging and even killing to get what they want. To abolish crime, a lot of awareness is required on a large scale.

But, for the time being, what an individual can do to keep himself/herself safe from harm is, by using equipments those are readily available to be used as a form of self defense. One such weapon of self defense is the stun gun. It is an electronic weapon that produces shocks. The shocks that are produced can temporarily disable the attacker. It is rather very helpful because stun guns can be used even from a distance. Stun guns not only disable a person, it makes the person feel pain!

Another device available for use of self defense is the Taser, which is an electronic control device. It uses the “Muscular Disruption Technology”, hence it is very effective on people with high pain endurance as it does not rely on causing pain. It is actually preferred by law enforcement officials over the more common stun guns and other electronic control devices.

Pepper Spray, also resounded as OC Spray (Oleoresin Capsicum) is another weapon that can be used for self defense. It is often misunderstood that there is pepper in the spray but the actual fact is that it has a chemical compound in it that stings the eye and causes tears, pain and even short-term blindness. If you carry just one bottle with you, it means that you have a whole lot of protections of saving yourself from any attack that comes at you. Pepper sprays have the reputation of risking mass number of people’s eye disorders.

Then there is the use of alarm which is very common in everyday life. These are mostly used in shops, factories and even in houses. It is used almost everywhere to prevent trespassing and crime.

In many cases, a person may also want to avoid being approached by unwanted dogs. In such cases, there is a device known as the Dog Repeller. Some dog repellers use a chemical that repels dogs but there are other dog repellers too that produce a high pitched sound which is discomforting for dogs and hence, it keeps them away.

Another weapon that can be used in self defense is the Blow Gun. A dart is placed at one end of a tube and the other end of the tube is blown by pointing at the target.

With so many devices, equipments and weapons available for protection, safety should not be an issue as long as people learn to make proper use of it.
